The Strokes Singer Cancels Solo Tour Over Production Issues

The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas was set for a fall tour with his new solo outfit The Voidz, but the group just cancelled the whole 11 date tour. The band released a statement, signed as “humbleLords”, which suggests that the band wasn’t able to produce an “inspiring” enough experience for their fans.

The group will be offering a full refund and will reschedule as soon as they can set up their stage properly. Read the full statement here:

With great regret, we need to cancel our upcoming shows in North America.

We had set out to do something a bit different with these shows and create more of an experience that would be inspiring to our fans as well as to the band. In order to make this work we needed many pieces to fall into place that just didn’t.

Everyone will of course be given a full refund.

We are going to regroup and re-approach this in the way it was intended, and soon.

Far be it from us to pass judgment, especially considering how little information was offered by this statement, but we’re going to keep listening to bands that can “create more of an experience” by showing up and playing their music really well.
