Despite previous reports to the contrary, The Strokes have announced that they will soon return to the studio. While performing at Washington DC’s Landmark Festival Sunday evening, frontman Julian Casablancas reportedly revealed,
“We’ll be back soon. We’ll be back in the studio and shit, yeah. Fuck yeah, man.”
Guitarist Nick Valensi’s wife, Amanda de Cadenet, tweeted the following confirmation of the news:

Guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. let on in July that the band would not be producing any more music in the foreseeable future, though Casablancas did indicate that new material might be on the way earlier this year.
