On Saturday, June 23, theĀ Allman Brothers Band Museum at the Big House will host their annual Summer Jam at the Kingsland Farms in Hawkinsville, GA. The one-day event will see performances by Atlanta rockersĀ Blackberry Smoke, blues-soul singer/songwriter/guitaristĀ The Marcus King Band, and Richmond, VA’s jammersĀ The Trongone Band. All three acts have a musical connection to the music originated by the Allman Brothers Band, so Summer Jam serves as somewhat of a continuation of their legacy.

If you havenāt yet visited the Big House, make sure that you do at some point. Youāll see instruments, sheet music, personal photographs, clothes and other belongings once held by members of the originators of the 1970ās new sound dubbed āSouthern Rock.ā A walk through the house includes the instrument room where the band practiced, Duane Allmanās bedroom, Berry & Candace Oakleyās ācasbahā and the kitchen where āRamblin Manā was written.
