Life just isn’t the same without the Allman Brothers Band. While virtually all members of the band are still playing, it’s a shame that they aren’t doing it together. Lucky for us, however, we have Les Brers.
Led by original drummers Butch Trucks and Jaimoe, along with the most recent bassist Oteil Burbridge and percussionist Marc Quiñones, the band has only performed a number of times and has been described as a “youthful” resurgence of the ABB.
Vocalist Lamar Williams Jr., the son of past bassist Lamar Williams, brings a new energy to the stage, alongside former ABB slide guitarist Jack Pearson, guitarist Pat Bergeson, and frequent collaborator / keys master Bruce Katz. With so much Allman Brothers’ blood on the stage, one might call it the 2016 incarnation.
In addition to their recently announced fall tour dates, they’ve added a night at the esteemed Brooklyn Bowl in New York. Tickets go on-sale on August 19th right here, so don’t sleep on it.
Enjoy this performance of “Dreams”, featuring some interesting guitar work by Pearson, from this weekend’s Peach Music Festival, courtesy of Rock, Roots, & Blues – Live!
Also, check out members of Les Brers join The String Cheese Incident for a very special “Allman Brothers’ Family Incident” performance from Peach right here.
