During a November performance in Joliet, IL,Ā Blues Traveler got some help from guitaristĀ Marcus Rezak on an extended rendition of “Mulling it Over”. Video of the sit-in is now available to view on YouTube.
The 10-minute rendition of āMulling it Overā features an extended jam section highlighting the harmonica work of Blues Traveler frontman John Popper and the nimble fretboard abilities of Rezak. Catapulting out of the second chorus, Popper and Rezak bring the song to a climax as they square off in a spacious call-and-response segment. The new body of work showcases a blues-oriented slant to Rezakās searing guitar style that tips its hat to his hometown of Chicago, which is hailed as the āHome of the Blues.ā Rezak will continue to support the new album with a two-night album release celebration at Denver, CO’sĀ Knew Conscious on December 23rd and 24th. Blues Traveler wrapped up its 2023 tour in support of the band’s 15th studio album, Traveler’s Soul, with a performance at Nashville, TN’s storied Ryman Auditorium in late November. The band is due to kick off its 2024 schedule with an appearance on the six-day 90s Cruise sailing from Tampa, FL on January 31st.
