Sierra Ferrell transformed the historic Midland Theatre in Kansas City into a surreal Appalachian wonderland for her Shoot For The Moon Tour. The Brudi Brothers—biological brothers from Seattle—kicked things off with a set that felt like a rowdy family dinner, full of laughter, sibling banter, and stories about their travels. Between jokes about which brother looks more like which parent and who sings better, they shared tales from the road, including one about a man who took the cowboy hat right off the lead singer’s head and stacked it atop the cowboy hat he was already wearing—a moment that inspired their viral TikTok hit, “Me More Cowboy Than You”. Their mix of folk Tejano and Old West country brought a nostalgic energy that culminated in a gritty western cover of “House of the Rising Sun”, perfectly setting the tone for Sierra Ferrell.
Before Ferrell even took the stage, it was clear how much thought had gone into the Shoot For The Moon Tour. The Midland felt timeless and otherworldly, transformed into a whimsical fairyland with live-action props and a forest backdrop that enveloped the entire stage.
