David ByrneĀ kicked off his extensive 2018 World Tour over the weekend, and will officially releaseĀ American Utopia, his first solo album in 14 years, on Friday, March 9th.Ā With a venue date in New York City mysteriously left off the 80+ date tour, which also includes festival appearances at Coachella, Shaky Knees, Jazz Fest, Panorama, Sasquatch, and Beale Street Music Festival, David Byrne has officially added two nights in New York City.

Byrne will perform Forest Hills Stadium in Queens on Saturday, September 15, marking Byrne’s 35th anniversary of the Talking Heads‘ 1983 performance at the venue on the legendary Stop Making Sense tour. Then, David Byrne will perform King’s Theatre in Brooklyn on Monday, September 17. The Tune-Yards will join David Byrne for both dates. Tickets for David Byrne Plays Queens and KingsĀ go on sale this Friday at 10 AM ET on David Byrne’s website.

The formerĀ Talking HeadsĀ frontman explained his excitement for this high profile tour in a recentĀ statement:Ā ā€œWe’ll be doing some new songs… and many others that will, I assume, be familiar. I’m excited. This is the most ambitious show I’ve done since the shows that were filmed forĀ Stop Making Sense, so fingers crossed.ā€ If the reviews from this weekend are any indication, theĀ American UtopiaĀ tour is positioned to be one of the most exciting tours of the year.
