[Update 2/6/26]: Organizers for Summer Camp Music Festival shared another update on Thursday, revealing that longtime hosts moe. and Umphrey’s McGee will not perform at the 2026 festival. The 25th anniversary edition of Summer Camp, set for May 21st–24th at Three Sisters Park in Chilicothe, IL, has announced only one artist for this year: EOTO.

In a statement, organizers wrote that they “wish [moe. and Umphrey’s] the best of success in their other endeavors. That said, we’re thrilled to be presenting an incredible mix of returning favorites and amazing artists making their Summer Camp debuts with four days of music and camping at Three Sisters Park.”

The festival team once again teased an impending lineup announcement, stating that the first artist revelation will arrive next week, “along with news and updates on some very exciting things happening for the 25th Anniversary of Summer Camp.” Shortly after that post, however, SCamp revealed EOTO as the first artist of the 2026 lineup. The all-improv livetronic duo of The String Cheese Incident drummer Michael Travis and percussionist Jason Hann hasn’t performed live since February 2020, and is currently set to return to the stage at Resonate Suwannee in April.

For months, fans across social media have vented frustrations about Summer Camp’s lack of a lineup. With the festival approaching, moe. and Umphrey’s McGee—who have served as SCamp’s hosts for over two decades, playing multiple sets throughout the weekend—announced tours and concerts that placed them hundreds of miles away from Summer Camp over Memorial Day Weekend. Summer Camp remained silent, not posting anything on its official Facebook page between September 13th, 2025, and January 8th, 2026, the latter a teaser that “details are coming soon.”

“We’ve heard your frustration with the lack of communication on our part during the typical window for announcements, and it’s warranted,” festival founder Ian Goldberg wrote in January 2026. “Candidly, there have been some internal changes with our marketing team which caused this interruption.”

That statement promised major announcements “in the coming weeks,” followed a month later by this latest statement, which promised the festival’s first artist announcement next week (and ultimately delivered on that early). Goldberg and the Summer Camp organization have repeatedly thanked fans for their patience and support.

“Although we have faced some challenges this year,” the latest statement concluded, “today we launch into our 25th Anniversary, and this exciting new chapter of Summer Camp Music Festival together.”

[Originally published 1/8/26]: Summer Camp Music Festival founder Ian Goldberg has issued a statement addressing concerns about the lack of information regarding the event’s upcoming 25th anniversary celebration, scheduled for May 21st–24th, 2026, at Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, IL.

In his New Year’s message to the “Summer Camp Family,” Goldberg acknowledged the community’s frustration with the communication gap during what he called “the typical window for announcements.”

“We’ve heard your frustration with the lack of communication on our part,” Goldberg wrote, attributing the delay to “internal changes with our marketing team which caused this interruption.”

The festival has had a turbulent period leading up to its 25th anniversary. In late 2024, organizers announced that Solshine Reverie, which had replaced the traditional Summer Camp format in 2024, would not return. They had planned a three-day, non-camping event at Peoria Riverfront for Memorial Day Weekend 2025, but those plans were ultimately scrapped in March 2025.

At that time, organizers cited “the state of the music festival industry, artist conflicts, and more” as factors preventing them from mounting an event that would “live up to the Summer Camp Presents brand.” Instead, they announced a series of summer concerts at Peoria Riverfront featuring Cake, The Infamous Stringdusters, Leftover Salmon, moe., and more.

Now, with the 25th anniversary approaching, Goldberg has assured fans that the organization is “back on track” and promised that major announcements would be forthcoming in the coming weeks. The founder revealed that headliners have been secured and teased both returning favorites and “a few new surprises” for the milestone anniversary event (notably, moe., who has traditionally played multiple nights of the festival, has conflicting tour dates booked for May 21st–23rd).
