Members of the extended Grateful Dead family, both literal and figurative, will unite this summer for a run of Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration shows. The all-star cast will visit venues throughout the East Coast for a seven-date run [get tickets].

This summer’s celebrations will feature keyboardist Melvin Seals and vocalist Jacklyn LaBranch, both 20+ year veterans of the Jerry Garcia Band. Joining them are Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh’s son Grahame Lesh, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead guitarist Tom Hamilton, Steve Kimock’s son/Mike Gordon drummer John Morgan Kimock, and former Doom Flamingo vocalist Kanika Moore.

This heart of gold band will kick off its symphonic run on June 30th at Lenox, MA’s Tanglewood. After taking July off, the band will regroup for a six-show sprint down the East Coast, starting at Philadelphia’s TD Pavilion at Highmark Mann. After that, the Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration will visit Holmdel, NJ (8/29), Bethel, NY (8/30), Canandaigua, NY (9/1), and Richmond, VA (9/4), before wrapping with a previously announced show at Vienna, VA’s Wolf Trap on Friday, September 4th, kicking off Labor Day Weekend. Each show will feature a local orchestra, with the Wolf Trap show hosting the National Symphony Orchestra.
