At long last, the duality of man will come together in karmic balance as Jack Black and Jack White appear on the same episode of Saturday Night Live. The next new episode of SNL on April 4th will feature comedy mainstay Jack Black and White Stripes garage rock revivalist Jack White.

Black and White have both been frequent guests of 30 Rockefeller Center. This will mark White’s sixth appearance as musical guest and Black’s fifth time as host, an occasion often marked with a ceremonial jacket and a cameo or two. The two forces of nature have also collaborated before, recording the Tenacious D single “Don’t Blow it Kage” together in 2019. They produced a behind-the-scenes documentary on the collab, naturally entitled “Jack Gray”.

In a testament to their artistry, either man could fill either role on the show. Jack Black has fronted comedy-metal band Tenacious D for over 30 years, alongside his longtime collaborator Kyle Gass. White, on the other hand, has a handful of acting credits to his name, including dramatic roles in Martin Scorsese‘s Oscar-nominated Killers of the Flower Moon and Jim Jarmusch‘s indie film Coffee and Cigarettes. For many, however, his most iconic film appearance was a brief portrayal of Elvis Presley in the cult classic, parody biopic Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story.
