The Disco Biscuits have shared the first look into the band’s future with new drummer Marlon Lewis: a 28-minute, documentary-style video titled “I think I see the future.”
The video, recorded in 4K at Spice House Sound in Philadelphia, PA, mixes live performance footage with interview content featuring Lewis and the rest of the band about adding a new band member and how the change-up may influence the group’s sound moving forward. Watch the full video below.

Rumors of a rift between The Disco Biscuits and longtime drummer Allen Aucoin began to ripple through the band’s devoted fanbase this past weekend. On Sunday, guitarist Jon Barber posted a song titled “i don’t talk” which many have interpreted as a “diss track” aimed at Aucoin. Seemingly sung from Aucoin’s perspective, the song was described by Gutwillig as being based on actual conversations—”or more like arguments”—within the band. While the track has since been removed from SoundCloud, fans have shared it online.
“It seems rumors got ahead of our formal announcement,” founding members Marc Brownstein, Jon “Barber” Gutwillig, and Aron Magner said in a joint statement posted to social media on Monday. “After much consideration, we’ve decided to part ways with Allen. While this news may feel sudden, it comes after many years of reflection, conversations, and attempts to work through challenges, as with any long relationship that experiences its ups and downs.”
The band addressed speculation surrounding the reasons behind the decision, clarifying that the split was not financially motivated. “Communication, creative direction, and the ability to connect on and off stage are all things that we’ve been trying to navigate for quite some time,” they wrote. “This is a 20+ year friendship, and sometimes things just don’t align the way they once did.”
The statement also acknowledged Aucoin’s significant contributions to the band’s journey. “After more than a thousand shows together, Allen’s contributions have shaped our music and journey in countless ways.”
The statement also introduced Marlon B. Lewis as the new drummer in the band for “the remainder of the year,” adding, “we look forward to this next chapter of The Disco Biscuits, filled with growth, exploration, and new music.” Lewis has made a name for himself via his work with Ms. Lauryn Hill, Keshi, French Montana, and more, though fans of The Disco Biscuits may know him best as the drummer for on-again, off-again Marc Brownstein funk side project Star Kitchen.
Allen Aucoin also issued a statement, noting, “After 20 incredible years with The Disco Biscuits, the band is moving forward without me. There were multiple reasons for this decision by the band, and it was not solely financially driven. I wish them continued success. I’m deeply grateful to the fans, crew, and everyone who has supported me through two decades of touring, recording, and creating something truly special together. My commitment to the music — and to all of you — remains strong, and I look forward to what the future holds. Thank you for the love, the energy, and the unforgettable shows.”
The new lineup featuring Marlon B. Lewis on drums will make its debut on Friday October 31st, 2025 at Hulaween with two Disco Biscuits sets as well as a late-night TRACTORBEAM set at Spirit Lake. Lewis, Barber, Brownstein, and Magner will then head out on a 19-date fall tour before ending with a 3-night New Years run in Boston. Find tickets for upcoming Disco Biscuits tour dates here.
